Study in Germany with APS

 


The dMAT (Digital Master Assessment Test) is a new standardized aptitude test introduced for selected Indian students applying for Master's programs in Germany. It is being introduced as part of the APS documentation process for specific academic fields beginning with Summer Semester 2027 admissions.

Who needs to take the dMAT?

The dMAT currently applies to applicants whose previous degree is in:

  • Engineering
  • Business & Management
  • Commerce
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Economics

It is not required for all Master's programs or all applicants. Bachelor's applicants, PhD applicants, and applicants in unaffected fields are currently exempt. Universities specify whether they require it.

Test Structure

The dMAT consists of:

  1. Core Module
    • Analytical reasoning
    • Logical thinking
    • Quantitative aptitude
    • Problem-solving
  2. Subject-Specific Module
    • Tests knowledge related to your academic discipline.

Test Language

  • English only.

2026 Schedule (First India Cycle)

  • Registration opens: 29 June 2026
  • Registration closes: 15 September 2026
  • Exam date: 26 September 2026
  • Result available: 12 October 2026

The test will be available at selected centres including:

  • Bengaluru
  • Chennai
  • Mumbai
  • New Delhi
  • Pune
  • Kolkata
  • Ahmedabad
  • Chandigarh
  • Bhopal
  • Mananthavady (Kerala)

Validity

The dMAT certificate has unlimited validity, although universities decide how to use the score in admissions.
